Our brothers, sisters, elders in NRMO and EC open their mouths to criticize without checking what they have done. One serious person would have realized that Museveni has been and continues to campaign before the EC announcements; I wonder what they will say when Museveni’s T-shirts, posters and statements already in circulation are produced as evidence of their early campaigns or it is only others not allowed to announce their intentions?
President Museveni has enjoyed full monopoly and support from his party members and does not know how to win internally in the party primaries, let this be his opportunity to at least try so that when he retires in 2040, he can share his experience on winning at various levels in elections.
If Amama Mbabazi was a “nobody” as many of the NRMO’s claim, why worry with such a person? They should happily welcome him since they are certain he will not win. There is something they know about the man’s capabilities that they fear and by the way, President Museveni has hired and fired many people and the fact that he has worked with Amama for over 40 years and only fired him recently, it means Amama has all the “good” qualities that Museveni found useful in his political life so this “nobody” rhetoric is “sour-grapes” stuff.
Now that the man (Nobody) has expressed his interest, let us watch as the game proceeds. Amama should consider coining his campaign slogan as: Amama -“Nobody, really?”
