Though Benito Aquino was killed, it is not certain who did it; some argue that it was Marcos’ wife who masterminded the assassination, theory that claims that for the first time Fernando Marcos showed open hatred of his wife for he never believed in assassination of his opponent. Our lawyer brother George Okello may shed more light about Philippines politics.
In our case, the mistakes of President Museveni’s handlers like IGP can hasten their departure if their actions lead to the the death of his opponents; for example had Arinaitwe killed Besigye as he manhandled him, may be we would have seen a different result by now. Though the orders may not have come from the president himself, there is no way people will see his innocence if the worst happened to people opponents. That is why I have time and again opined that it would be in NRM’s interest to ensure that the opponents are handled with care otherwise their (NRM) stay will be short-lived much as it has over-stayed.
I just cannot understand why the president thinks he has not yet done his contribution; if he has not done enough in 30 years when he started as a 44 year young man, what miracle does he expect to help him do more at 72+ years? It simply doesn’t make sense .
