Dr. Wandia Njoya is an associate professor at Daystar University in Nairobi is the daughter of Reverend Timothy Njoya. I have seen her speak before on Citizen TV and is passionate about social justice . Let me just point out the irony of Kenyan civil society-read neo colonial agents-now complaining about the actions of their funders. Part of what has kept me away from this UAH forum has something to do with investigating civil society in Africa. It is a massive study by a group of f us whose findings we are compiling in a book. Stay tuned.
Let me point out for the benefit of UAH readers that NASA actually had two manifestos. When Dr Ndii, NASA’s chief economic adviser, was confronted on Citizen TV by Anne Kiguta arguably, one of the best in Kenya, he blew it when Ms Kiguta (again for the benefit of readers Ms. Kiguta is rumoured to be romantically linked to Jomo Gecaga , President Uhuru Nephew and his personal assistant) showed her the other manifesto. Dr Ndii disowned it that he had not ben party to it. well the other manifesto had been prepared by Jimmy Wanjigi -he was NASA’s chief financier-and his NASA team under the lead of lawyer Willis Otieno. After Kiguta’s interview, RAO acknowledged that indeed NASA had two documents.
Ms Kiguta was armed with NASA’s two manifestos. Actually it was Ndii who was surprised that NASA had prepared two documents one against his back. After that interview,RAO himself confirmed Ms. Kiguta’s document as genuine. You know that most of the civil society types John Githongo, George Kegoro, Maina Kiai, were working for NASA. That second manifesto shocked them because it was prepared under the guidance of tender entrepreneur Jimmy Wanjigi, so civil society groups felt betrayed. Poor Ndii.
Ms. Kiguta is one of the best and even brightest of the Kenyan TV personalities, who never suffers fools. the other really good and sharp presenters are KTN’s Aisha Mwiru, Sophia Wanuna and especially Michelle Ngele who is very sharp.
People: NASA sharpened their blades. To see and hear them lash out at International observers and even the media with Orengo calling on NASA readers to boycott Daily Nation and Nation TV is hilarious. The same Daily Nation that has given space for NASA adviser to write regular columns: Ndii, George Kegoro and Maina Kiai among others. Now suddenly daily nation is o be boycotted. How sad.
The Kenyan media generally did a good job during the presidential campaigns. One mistake was how the presidential debates were prepared. It was wrong and very unethical for the media houses to contract Katherine Openda-famously Nyayo’s mpango wa kando-who was working on RAO’s campaign to arrange the debate. That is why UK boycotted because intelligence revealed the selected presidential debate moderators, known NASA sympathisers intended to humiliate UK. He boycotted and RAO got 90 minutes of free airtime. Funny, many talking heads claimed that UK would pay heavily for skipping the debate. Alas, even with 90 minutes of free TV publicity NASA still lost!.
