funny how much attention we pay to these things. What is becoming of us?
Bwana Semuwemba,
Thank you very much for some historical information that appears on this Forum from time to time. However, some of the information you are given is wrong.Mulindwa made some mistakes in the cabinet list. I would like to correct the following:
1. Dr E.B.S Lumu is a Protestant (not a Catholic)
2. Masembe-Kabali was a Protestant (and nearly became Katikiro of Buganda)
3. Mrs Florence Lubega (the first black Ugandan woman MP) was a Protestant. In fact, she was the daughter of Katikiro Wamala of Buganda in the 1940s. Her husband (Saulo Lubega) was Omuwanika of Buganda in the 1960s.
4. Dr Samson. B. Kisekka (a PM and VP) was a Seventh Day Adventist.
5. Godfrey Lule is a Catholic.
6. Henry Kajura is a Catholic.
7. Henry Oryem Okello (son of Tito Okello) is a Catholic.
These are the discrepancies I know of. It is therefore wise for people to be a bit careful not to take all the information in this list as “gospel truth.”
By the way, Yusufu Lule did not abandon Islam in order to enter King’s College Budo. Budo used to accept Muslims from the beginning. Those who went there after Yusufu Lule (like Abu Mayanja, etc) did not change their religion. Yusuf Lule was forced to abandon Islam only after he made the daughter of Matiya Wamala (a devout Protestant) pregnant. Although he never actually married Hannah Wamala, they lived like husband and wife thereafter. In return, Matiya Wamala gave them some land near his home in Kasenge, where the Lules built their home.

Dear all,I think this is one of the greatest archives that will help not only Ugandans but people across the glob. Indeed “Mother Uganda” went true a stress of transitions, untill date we still see alot of things coming up. Academicians; practitioners…all walks of life will find these information posted here so vital,I suggest we try and make these material accessible to many Ugandans by maybe creating pop-ups and links to other sites like our local papers.
As I googled to search for list of our ministers since independence I got this link, very interesting. Keep up!!!
Thanks
Dear all,
I am always touched by the trajedy that fell my uncle, one Tom Omara brilliant school playwright a fact that more than led to his fate son to Rev. Gideon Okello from lango whose body was never seen again.he was a high school student at kings college budo between 1964 and 1966. when he dissappeared from school and was brutally murdered . its a shame on the state security intelligence headed by Akena Adoko by then because they never by provided information about his where abouts. we in the family want to know the truth.
Dear all,
I am always touched by the trajedy that fell my uncle, one Tom Omara brilliant school boy playwright a fact that more than led to his fate son to Rev.
Any one out there who could shed light on the bunch of officers who ended up in Mutukula, in custody; one of whom was my father Captain Walter Rayleigh Agona [Chief engineer with the then air force].
Again, similar to David Ogwang, I am irked by the fact that his body was never found, though the events surrounding his death were reported in the Independent Newspaper [in London].
I would be forever grateful for whatever bits of information……….
James Ochola was a Japadhola and a Catholic, not a Protestant. He married a Protestant wife on crossing the floor from D.P.
Hi,
Thanks for the good Work! Just for correction, Hon. V.K Rwamwaro was never catholic. He was Anglican/protestant.
Kahinda Otafire is a Protestant. His wife’s funeral was at All Saints Cathedral. Had he been a Catholic such a funeral should have been at Christ the King’s Church, which is Catholic.
Dear Pan-African Ugandans,
I am bemused by the way our leaders have taken this country. Religion, Region, Ethnicity take the day. This is the danger we are in. Those “in the thing” (as we now call it) will appoint toothless ‘others’ to dupe the community that we are balancing. Look at the portfolios they hold. We have erred on nation-building and need to revisit our nationalistic sentiments, appeal to our Pan-African sentimentalities and work better. Unity thrives under conditions of justice and equity.
Thank you for this great list of leaders that we cannot forget. They served this country in very difficult times and many might never fully appreciate that Uganda has held together because of these our heroes past and present. In that regard Mr. Vincent Rwamwaro who peacefully passed on 02.08.2008 (R.I.P) WILL ALWAYS BE HONORED IN OUR HEARTS AS A LOVING, SMART, HUMOUROUS, AND INTELLIGENT LEADER, WHO TRULY LOVED UGANDA.
\i went to college in the late 50’s with one Alex Lobidra. We were training to be teachers. He stayed at my house and we were good friends. He returned to Uganda and a few years later when I once landed at Kampala I tried to phone him only to be told that he had been killed . Can anyone tell me more.?
Alan Palmer
Hello Yusuf Musoke
Thank you for your comments, I would like to correct a mistake in your comment. Yusuf Lule and Hannah Wamala did actually marry and remained married.
Anybody with some information on the late Max Choudry Karamoja minister in the 60’s till his death in 1988.
Oketch, You got it wrong, Kahinda Otafire Saverino is a catholic, but religion and ethinicity do not count much but what one has contributed to our country.
Great work Edward
On the list of Ministers under Museveni 1986-2008, the Minister of State for Technology and Reseach (Aggrey Suit; Acholi; Protestant) was left out
so, is Kintu Musoke a Musoga or it is a mistake as indicated on the list?
Can you please correct a mistake I read here: Dr E. B, S Lumu has never been Catholic. He is church of Uganda Christian or protestantt as you may want to call it.
I read a lot of interesting posts here. Probably you spend a lot of

Excellent site you’ve got here.. It’s difficult to find high-quality writing

Take care!!
I comment whenever I especially enjoy a article on a website or I have something to valuable to contribute

Ugandans-At-Heart. I was actually moved enough to post a thought 😉 I actually do have some
questions for you if it’s okay. Could it be just me or do some of these comments appear
like they are written by brain dead individuals?
😛 And, if you are writing on other places, I
would like to keep up with you. Could you list all of all your

As a leave-in styling aid, you only need to take a couple
of drops of the oil and massage it into the scalp and
down the length of the hair. To be used in cooking this can be bought at lots of European and Moroccan malls.
It is also easier to cut down your hair frequently.

You have forgotten James Obyara Anyoti, Minister of State for Defense and Internal Affairs, Obote I, Kumam.
Dr David Obyara Anyoti, Kumam not ITESO.
After Obote….Uganda has never been the same. Just take a look at the images in the archives taken during Obote’s governance, and compare to the current Uganda. One is immediately confronted with dire Poverty, Injustice, and Corruption… A total self-destruction. Shame
Is Kintu Musoke Musoga??
That a great history. this will help youth who are in their preparation of politics gets alot of information and find the history of their role modle
